This booklet has been prepared to provide information of our more commonly used county polcies that students and families should be aware. This booklet is not inclusive of all Upshur County Schools policies and it should be noted that each school has individual school handbooks that support county policies. Please pay particular attention to Policy 4011; Expected Behavior in Safe and Supportive Schools, as it incorporates four former policies with significant changes.
Should you have questions concerning these policies or other issues; please contact your child's school principal.

What is Destination Graduation?
Destination Graduation is an initiative to increase awareness about the importance of staying in school and earning your diploma. Our goal is for our students to graduate from high school in four years from the time they enter ninth grade.
One in four West Virginia students will not graduate!
Destination Graduation is about relationships. It is about building relationships with each other and our students. It is about treating others the way you want to be treated. It is the sense of togetherness and belonging.
Dropping out of high school is a community problem. By working together, we hope to create an ownership to our student's education, our schools and our community. We hope that you see Destination Graduation plastered all over Upshur County, as a reminder, to everybody that lives here or is passing through, that we believe, that graduation is the destination for all of our students!
